Happy New Year friends, colleagues and supporters of the Alaska Native Arts Foundation (ANAF)!
As we begin this New Year, the ANAF Team collectively decided to not make resolutions but rather dream big. Our non-resolutions are to converge ideas and tap into our artist’s ingenuity, intelligence and inventiveness. We invite artists to submit your ideas for shows, encourage you to apply to exhibit at our gallery; and if you are currently registered with us, we need your updated biography in order to tell your stories so we can meet our goals to be art consultants to our customers and stewards to our artists. It’s winter. It’s cold outside. So come warm up for Wear Art, Thou? First Friday on February 3, 2012 at ANAF! A reception and opening exhibit featuring head-to-toe wearable art with a mix of great designers like Bobby Itta, Esther Koezuna and Ed Mighell. We welcome you to come show off your wearable art, or simply as you are. Interested in having a show at ANAF? In looking forward at the year ahead for exhibits, we are now accepting applications from artists. To apply, view a list of criteria and how it works, visit our website www.alaskanativearts.org to download the form and submit to info@alaskanativearts.org.
Finally, in our community calendar listed below, you’ll note a few events like Fur Rendezvous in Anchorage and the Iditarod coming up. ANAF is calling artists for Iditarod-themed art. In addition, we are looking for men’s jewelry. Please send us photos and a narrative description of your work to info@alaskanativearts.org.
To a year of peace and prosperity for all of us, and with deep appreciation for your support,
ANAF Team --- Carrie, Eric, Ryan and Trina

WHO WE ARE
Established in 2002, Alaska Native Arts Foundation (ANAF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Alaska dedicated to broaden the understanding of, and increase the demand for, Alaska Native art. It administers an e-commerce initiative that brings Alaska Native art to the global marketplace and a contemporary gallery in downtown Anchorage.
